Guinea pig longevity: evidence and limits
Read the MSD, RSPCA and VetCompass evidence behind guinea-pig-lifespan-v0.1, and why care answers guide advice rather than adding years.
Sources and methodology
Veterinary manuals, welfare guidance and clinical records describe different measures. We do not mix them into individual care-year coefficients.
Model: guinea-pig-lifespan-v0.1
The model uses total planning age = (current age³ + reference age³)^(1/3), with reference ages 4, 6 and 8. The curve is an internal assumption, not a fitted guinea pig life table.
This is an unvalidated educational planning model, not an individual prognosis or a confidence interval. Only age changes the numbers.
The estimate uses guinea pig lifespan guidance and a versioned internal age curve.
Educational planning only, not veterinary advice or a guarantee. Seek veterinary help for appetite loss, dental trouble, breathing changes, diarrhea or sudden weakness.
