What is a deletion token?

A deletion token is a private code shown when you create a share link or report draft. It lets you remove that saved item later without creating an account.

What it does

  • It proves that you are the person who received the deletion option when the share link or report draft was created.
  • It is used only for deleting the saved share or report connected to that specific item.
  • It is not a password for signing in, and PetLifeYears does not use it to identify you across the site.

Where to find it

  • The token appears after you choose to create a share link or generate a report draft.
  • It is displayed together with the share or report link, before you leave the result screen.
  • PetLifeYears cannot show the same token again later because only a protected hash is stored on the server.

How to keep it

  • Store it somewhere private if you may want to delete the saved item later.
  • Do not include it when you send someone the public share link.
  • If the token is lost, the public share or report can still be viewed by people who have the link, but the self-service deletion form cannot verify the deletion request.
